Sandy Bender plays 5-string banjo, classical guitar and mandolin.  His unique style is culled from folk ballads, bluegrass, blues, jazz, Celtic and classical music.

Sandy performs poignant, joyful and haunting instrumentals as solo or in improvisatory collaboration with poets, storytellers, dancers, singers and musical ensembles. He also composes and records music for 5-string banjo, mandolin, guitar, clarinet, violin and voice.

Sandy has performed at the Beaver Pond Poetry Forum, Mad Poets Society, Churchville Nature Center and the Grounds for Sculpture as well as at various art festivals, art galleries, nature centers, coffee houses and parties.  He is available to perform in similar venues and always open to new creative possibilities for audiences of all ages.
