Caren Leonard has been singing all her life and thinks the world would be a much better place if we all did a lot more singing. Her performance style with adults and children invites participation in a variety of ways - singing, playing instruments, dancing, signing, etc. Caren has an impressive vocal range and her singing has been described as "powerful", "beautiful", and "sensitive". Her songwriting includes both the serious and the comical and covers topics as diverse as cookies and reincarnation. Caren's songs have won praise from such notables as Bob Franke and Sarah Pirtle. In addition to her original material, Caren performs folk music from around the globe, show tunes, rock'n'roll, and even a bit of classical music.

Accompanying herself on guitar, dulcimer, and autoharp, Caren also incorporates recorder, tin whistle, and percussion in her performances.

In addition to performing, Caren has taught participatory children's music classes for toddlers and pre-schoolers for several different organizations and has presented school-age programs in elementary schools.
