The Golden Age Retrievers have a good old time while retrieving the music of the "Golden Age", that is the 1920's & early 30's when country music from the southern Appalachian Mountains was first recorded & widely distributed on 78 speed records. "We think of it as roots music", says fiddler & square dance caller Nancy Shill,  lead vocalist & guitar player Kellie Allen and Pete Peterson the banjo & guitar aficionado. All three are vocalists and instrumentalists. Their harmonies are strong. Their repertoire ranges from upbeat & foot tappin' to haunting & mournful.
